No, the specific type of HSC board (like CBSE or ICSE) does not inherently determine success in JEE Main. While CBSE is often recommended for JEE preparation due to its alignment with the JEE syllabus and focus on NCERT, students from all boards, including ICSE, can successfully crack the exam. The key factor is a strong understanding of concepts, regardless of the board, and effective preparation strategies.

Getting NIT surathkal with 88 percentile in JEE Mains and belogs to SC category and having home state quota is nearly possible but not guaranteed as it depends on many factors:
- According to SC category marking criteria, they usually have relaxed cutoffs but it depends upon the overall performancr of students in your category
- Home state quota can be helpful for other best NITs and it will give you an advantage.home state students generally have lower cutoff than other state students but for NIT surathkal, competition is still difficult even with home state quota because it is one of the top NITs in india
- Cutoffs for courses like computer s

Getting top IIIT like IIIT Delhi and IIIT hyderabad with 94% is not possible as IIIT Delhi requires 97-98% and IIIT Hyderabad requires nearly 99.6% marks (nearly +260 marks in JEE mains)
With 94% and OBC category, you can aim for mid term IIITs like Kota, Pune, Guwahati, Kalyani, Kottayam, etc. as their percentage requirement is 88-90 above percentile which is quite low than top IIITs and courses like CSE, ECE, IT are achievable there.

With 108 marks in JEE Main, you can generally expect a percentile in the 92-96 range, translating to an estimated rank between 40,000 and 60,000. While admission to top-tier NITs or IITs for popular branches like Computer Science might be difficult for general category students, you stand a good chance of securing a seat in lower-ranked NITs, IIITs (especially for less competitive branches like Civil, Mechanical, or Biotechnology), or various Government-funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) and state-level engineering colleges, particularly if you have home-state quota or belong to a reserved category.
