Jind Institute of Engineering and Technology (JIET, Jind) is a self financed institute of Haryana which was established in 1998 and is affiliated to the Kurukshetra University Haryana. It is an institute of higher education and offers range of ug/pg courses to its students. The institute is approved by the ministry of HRD, AICTE, New Delhi, and government of Haryana .It functions under jind Educational trust .

The basic criteria to get admission into Jind Institute of Engineering and Technology (JIET, Jind) for UG courses is to have passed 10+2 with minimum 45% of marks and for certain course such as B.Tech they also accept marks obtained in JEE and HSTES with PCM as compulsory subjects in Class 12th. In PG level admission the marks of UG is also considered to get into the college.

After completing their engineering course from Jind Institute of Engineering and Technology, a good number of students are placed in premier organizations all across world, 60% students are placed in IT sector companies like TCS 23%, Infosys 17%, Wipro 12% and HCL 8%. 20% students are in engineering sector like Larsen & Toubro 10%, Samsung 5% & Siemens 5%. 10% Some of them are in research organizations, being an entrepreneur or working in government organizations as well, Others are placed in India of which 85% whereas 12% are placed outside India mainly in US 6% UAE 3% and in Australia 2% .

The admission process of Jind Institute of Engineering and Technology is done through online and have an application fee rupees five hundred and the online form is available on the official website of the institution or Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES). The list of documents to be submitted consists of 10+2 marksheet, JEE Main/HSTES LEET score card and certificate of the category. The lists of the eligible candidates take counseling in the period of June-August and document verification.
