In most colleges for BA Journalism - Entrance exam is must. It is Mid-August already - the admissions are mostly over now. You have not mentioned the state you are from - you can check colleges in your area if there are still seats available for admission. Dropping of years / Gap in Academic years to matter at the time of Counselling (lesser impact) but placements (higher impact).

It's good provided you are adventurous, passionate, have good verbal and written skills, knows multiple languages, etc. It's all about passion.

English for sure would be necessary for that course. Rest of them I don't think is necessary for studying that course.

You can become a journalist by choosing any stream in class 12th, and I am also from Biology and I am going to pursue Journalism this year. Just get a good percentage and apply for BJMC in college and various college have their own entrance exam, so prepare yourself for it. And, check out college dates in December, so you don't miss any opportunity.
