Indeed, you are eligible for the admission of B.A. in Journalism after clearing the Class 12 examination. You must have completed the 10+2 qualification from a recognised board, scoring at least an aggregate of 50%. Among your subjects, English/Hindi should be compulsorily studied. Normally, it is based on the merit or entrance exam criteria; some institutions accept these tests like JMI Entrance Exam or IIMC Entrance Exam. Any student from any stream- Arts, Commerce, or Science-can apply for this course.

For M.A Journalism and Mass Communication, a syllabus of focused areas covering journalism, mass communication and media studies is required to prepare for. The syllabus normally covers about 10-12 papers per semester, i.e 4-6 papers in the first semester and 4-6 papers in the second semester. Introduction to Journalism and Mass Communication, Media and Society, Reporting and Editing, Broadcast Journalism, Research Methodology are just a few topics covered. Also, study for entrance exams like IPU CET, DUET, or JNUEE for areas like current affairs, media and communication and analytical skills. It takes 4 to 6 months to prepare as well
