The processes are very complicated in manner to join the college. 

1. Eligibility Criteria: candidates seeking admission to JSSTU must fulfill the eligibility criteria specified by the VTU. Generally applicants should have completed their 10+2 or PUC education in silence stream with pass percentage of marks. 
2. Entrance Examination: To join JSSTU, candidates need  to appear for the KCET examination conducted by karnataka examination authority (KEA). It is a state level exam that evaluates candidate's knowledge in subjects such as physics, chemistry and mathematics. 
3. Rank Based Admission: Based on the performance in CET, candidates are assigned a rank. The rank is determined by considering the marks obtained in the entrance exam and the qualifying exams. The higher rank, the better chances of securing seat at JSSTU. 
4. Branch Allocation: JSSTU offers various engineering branches which include computer science, mechanical, electrical, civil, electronics and Comunication and more. The branch allocation is based on the rank obtained in CET and preferences chosen by the candidates during the counseling process.
