The LPU offers a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic Science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem-solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal, etc. Specialisation. The Eligibility Criteria is (Qualifying Exam) Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics Mathematics, and English or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. The course aims at enabling the student to Effectively build and communicate the solutions using learnings from basic mechanical engineering, basic sciences, mathematics, and computational skills and tools. He should have the ability to design using Design of Machine Elements theories and to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technology. He should acquire the Capability of building efficient energy conversion systems using a basic understanding of Thermodynamics Heat transfer, and Fluid Mechanics. He should demonstrate the ability to propose cost-effective optimized solutions using simulated environments of Computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, and computer-aided engineering. Placements are very good at LPU. Every year more than 500+ companies including national and multinational companies visit LPU for placement. The maximum package availed by the student for CSE is 42 LPA. The maximum salary offered was 40 LPA and the average salary was 5.7lpa. PEP Classes-These classes help students for placements so that they can get selected in the pre-final year because the companies will start visiting for the recruitment of students from the pre-final year. Some of the students go for internships also in their final year. The Knowledge Review has rated LPU as the 10th best Training & Placement Institution in India.
