Ph.D. is a terminal academic degree, whereas M.Ed or Master of Education, is a master's degree course that deals with the study of novel teaching methods and educational research. The UGC has approved a proposal that will let students simultaneously enrol in two degree programmes. One of the degrees must be earned in the regular mode, and the other may be earned online or through open and remote learning.

The Master of Education (M. Ed. ) course was discontinued in September 2021. However, the university offers other courses to students at the postgraduate level, these are MA, M.Com, M.Sc, MCA, MBA, and others. These courses are offered to students through eight schools of study, namely the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, School of Commerce & Management, School of Health Science, School of Architecture, Science & Technology, School of Continuing Education, School of Computer Sciences, and others.

At the undergraduate level, Delhi University provides one to two-year B.Ed and other courses to students. At the postgraduate level, Delhi University offers M.Ed MD MCA and other courses to students. The university accepts the scores of CUET-PG DUET and CUET for admission to the B.Ed course. The eligibility criteria for M.Ed is a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate and the accepted entrance exam is CUET-PG.
