M.Pharma

Both the degrees are equally good and have growth. M.Pharm in pharmaceutics is most valuable in India, whereas in the US and other foreign countries, pharmacology is well established. Pharmaceutics is a unique subject deals with all F&D, production, etc. So, the scope is clear. A person with pharmacology can enter in the preclinical and clinical studies. Herbal Drug industry is booming in India and other parts. So, pharmacognosy is bigger aspect now. The demand for herbal drugs is elevated due to less side effects. Himalaya, Zandu, Dabur and so many are standing in squad and looking for such person. Recent Market shows that M.Pharm with chemistry are less absorbed in the industry than B.Sc Chemistry because in pharma chem., we are more concentrating on SAR of the drug molecules. Pharma-analysis is another important line where one can go for QA, QC, etc., and other fields like biotech and microbiology have less chances in it.

If you choose M.Pharma:
You should specialise in any branch of pharmaceuticals such as pharmaceutics, Analysis, biotech, chemistry, pharmacy practice, clinical pharmacy or any other department of pharma product life cycle.
The career graph will be slow and steady, with steady growth with no roller coaster type ups and downs. This does not mean that your salary will be less, but you will follow a typical graph of a career growth, well paid if you choose MBA. Then also specialisation applies, where you will really study a new branch all together, it may be HR, operations, finance, marketing, tech, management, etc.Here depending upon your skills, you can get jobs in all companies including pharmaceutical companies, you have a broader scope post MBA. The career graph will be a roller coaster, with ups and downs, based on your knowledge, skills & attitude.
