Eligible candidates will be required to appear for a written NET in any one of the centres Bengaluru, Dehradun, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi and Guwahati.
The NET will be for 2.5 hours
The test will have 30 marks multiple choice questions on General Awareness including Current affairs, Quantitative Skills, Geology, Geography, Sociology, Economics and Engineering
40 marks multiple choice questions in wildlife sciences including natural history, biogeography, ecology, genetics, vegetation science, population ecology, habitat ecology, behavioural ecology, conservation biology, wildlife health
30 marks essay questions covering conservation issues
Shortlisted meritorious candidates based on NET screening will be called to take a personality and aptitude test (PAT) at Dehradun
Final selection to the course will be made on the basis of combined merit of 50% marks obtained in the Bachelor's degree and 50% of PAT.

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardised test that is required to be taken by students seeking admission to graduate schools. The exam has been developed to evaluate the verbal, analytical and mathematical skills of the candidates. GRE is a computer-based test and has a user-friendly design. Individuals applying to graduate schools in order to pursue a Masters of science (MS) or MBA are required to take the exam.
GRE also has subject tests, apart from the basic GRE exam. These subject tests help to make your application stand out from the rest by highlighting your subject knowledge and skill-level of a particular subject. Each subject test is intended for those students who have a Bachelor's degree in the particular disciplines. The subject tests being offered currently are Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Literature, Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology.

The JAM examination for each test papers will be carried out as online Computer Based Test (CBT). All the seven test papers of JAM-2 will be objective type, with three different patterns of questions as follows:
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ): Each MCQ type question has four choices out of which only one choice is the correct answer.
Multiple Select Questions (MSQ): Each MSQ type question is similar to MCQ but with a difference that there may be one or more than one choice(s) that are correct out of the four given choices. The candidate gets full credit if he/she selects all the correct answers only and no wrong answers. Candidates can mark the answer(s) by clicking the choice(s).
Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions: For each NAT type question, the answer is a signed real number which needs to be entered using the virtual keypad on the monitor. No choices will be shown for these type of questions.
So, the paper will consist of question from other sections such as aptitude based questions.
