Since each section carries 50 maximum marks, hence the final merit list be prepared out of 150 marks. The NEST cutoff marks will be prepared from this 150 marks only.

Q:   Is it compulsory to attempt the biology section of IISER entrance exam?

A:
No, it's not compulsory. There is no best of 3 but your cumulative score is considered and there are several people who achieve a good score with PCM, however, it's preferred if you attempt to bio improve your score to improve your chance of getting your preferred IISER.

Q:   What is the difficulty level of IISER entrance test?

A:
IISER 2023 entrance examination is considered to be one of the finest and the toughest exams under Science stream undergraduate entrance examination as it provides the BSMS dual degree in the most reputed and research-oriented institutions across the country which is IISERs. On a comparison note, candidates will find the examination tougher than JEE Main exam, but below JEE Advanced. Unlike JEE or NEET the IISER aptitude test asks questions from both mathematics and Biology. Subjects which are found tougher in IISER entrance examination- Organic Chemistry can easily create hassle while giving the entrance examination as there are a lot of naming reactions, its electrophilic and nucleophilic attacks which are commonly asked in the examination. For the bio-background people, the Math section is not usually unscalable. With a decent understanding of regular 11th and 12th-grade concepts, you should be able to crack a few questions without much trouble. Of course, the caveat being that you rock it in the bio section and make up for it. So ensure that you don't falter at this juncture.

Q:   What is the difficulty level of OUAT entrance exam?

A:

The difficulty level of the OUAT entrance exam is generally considered to be moderate. The questions are based on the NCERT syllabus for class 11 and 12, and cover a wide range of topics in physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology, as well as mental aptitude. However, the difficulty level of the exam may vary slightly from year to year. For example, in recent years, the OUAT has been increasing the difficulty level of its questions in order to maintain the quality of its admissions process. Overall, the OUAT entrance exam is a challenging exam, but it is definitely achievable with proper preparation. Candidates who have a good understanding of the NCERT syllabus and have practiced regularly should be able to crack the exam.

Q:   What are some preparation tips for IISER entrance examination?

A:
Stepwise Preparation for IISER Entrance Exam Step 1: Understand the Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme. Step 2: Get the prescribed Exam syllabus for the applied course. Step 3: Get all the study material you can to prepare better for IISER Entrance Exam Step 4: Create a day-to-day and weekly timetable on how much material you can study on a daily basis.

Q:   Which subject carries maximum weightage at IISER Entrance Examination?

A:
IISER Entrance Exam carries equal weightage of all the subjects which are asked in the examination. The IISER Entrance Exam Marking Scheme is as follows: 1. Physics 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers. 2. Mathematics- 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers. 3. Chemistry 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers. 4. Biology 15 questions will be asked in the examination and 60 marks will be the maximum awarded for all the correct answers. Marking scheme: Candidates will be awarded three marks for each correct answer. There will be negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer.

Q:   Can I skip math section in NEST exam?

A:

Ideally applicants should not skip any pericular section before appearing in the NEST exam. As authority will consider the marks from top 3 sections to prepare the merit list. Hence even if one paper from any section except math if don't go well then by securing good marks in math section you can increase your chances of qualifying the exam. Along with this if there are easy questions in math section then there is high probability to secure good marks in it.

Hence it is advised not to skip any section while preparing for the NEST exam.

Q:   What is good score in NEST exam?

A:

For each section, "20% of the average of the best 100 scores in that section" will be considered as the section–wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS).
For example, if the average of the best 100 scores in the Chemistry section is 43 out of 50, then SMAS for the Chemistry section would be 43*0.20 = 8.6 marks. It will be same for other section too.

SMAS for the two sessions, for any particular section, can be of different numerical values. The value of SMAS will be different for different category students i.e if it 100 for General candidates then it will be 90 for OBC and 50 for SC/ST and Divyangjan applicants.
