Probably, you may not have qualified the respective entrance exam with minimum qualifying marks or the cut offs for Lucknow University may be higher than you secured mark or rank.

Following are the M.Sc. Microbiology eligibility criteria to be followed by the candidates:
Marksheets of classes X and XII are required with a minimum percentage of 50% or more. A Bachelors Degree in Microbiology from a recognised university or an equivalent with a minimum mark of 55% or more. For institutes which hold an entrance exam, students must clear the entrance exam and make it to the cut off or merit list.

No age limit for distance course.
BSc Physical science, BSc Life science, BSc Microbiology, or its equivalent degree holders can apply for MSc Microbiology Distance Education admission. A relaxation of 5% score is given to students in the reserved category. There is no age criteria for applying to get admission.
