It depends on the university you are getting into. If you don't have enough UG marks, then you can take up the entrance examination to get admission.

Yes. Admission is still open in few colleges in Tamil Nadu. Entrance exam will held on May and June in few colleges.

All the courses are good, depending on the choice of your interest you can select any course, Biochemistry will lead to research in biochemistry industry, pharmaceutical, medical laboratories, etc. Chemistry will help you to get a job in chemical, pharmaceutical, goods processing, dairy, forensic, etc. Biotech is an emerging and very promising field with large number of organisations like Biocon making it big and creating jobs. You can pursue M.Sc. Physics after your B.Tech in some prominent universities like LPU. As per their website, the eligibility is passing with 55% aggregate marks in Bachelors degree (any discipline) (with Physics and Maths or B.Tech. (Electronics and Communication Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering) or equivalent. You can choose from following two electives:
CONDENSED MATTER PHYSICS
