Hello Abhinav, theoretically speaking a student who is in the final year of B.Tech can initiate the process for applying to do MS abroad. This will juxtapose with his passing out of B.Tech and beginning of the course of MS in universities abroad. However there is a second school of thought which states that one year should be taken as a break and prepare well so that a student gets admission in reputed universities abroad. But then it is up to the student. However one important thing you should understand is that the foreign universities do not base their admission exclusively on the academics but consider 360 degrees performance of the student. Hello Dhanya, in one sense MS or M.Sc. Are similar in that both are postgraduate courses. But then there are differences as well. M.Sc. Is a degree which is granted for postgraduate studies in a Science subject and eligibility would be normally B.Sc. In that subject. On the other hand M.Tech or ME are the two degrees which an engineering graduate seeks out after completion of his graduation since for both of these post graduate degrees graduation in engineering is an eligibility. However majority of the institutions abroad have programs cal MS which is an umbrella programme for post graduation which any graduate student can apply for.
