MHU is the first horticulture university in Haryana and the fifth in the country. Through excellence in teaching, research, and extension education in horticulture, it addresses related fields, thereby making it a key player in enhancing food security by improving the livelihoods of farming communities. It is UGC-recognized and the diverse spectrum of postgraduate and PhD programs indicates that the university has commitments to advanced education and research. If one is particularly interested in horticulture and related disciplines, MHU would probably be the best option in Karnal.
