Academic faculty provide students with a solid foundation through core management principles, frameworks and academic research based on academic teachings. In contrast, industry practitioner and visiting faculty members provide students with useful, practical information relating to daily operations within their respective corporations, including current market conditions; case studies; and examples of how companies operate in relation to each other, etc.

This balance between both academic and industry faculty allows students to learn both the meaning of what type of action or behaviour is involved and how those actions and behaviours are used within the context of business. Industry faculty will typically share with students examples of the types of real problems they have faced and the types of decisions they have made, and what type of expectations they have for employees working at their companies. This will help create an engaging classroom environment through shared experiences; thus providing students with an integrated learning experience of theory through practice, and as a result, prepare them to perform with confidence in their new corporate careers.

GIBS Business School offers a structured learning approach for students from non-business or non-management academic backgrounds to succeed in the PGDM course through its support systems. Support systems include foundation or bridge courses in principles of accounting, economics, statistics, and basic business principles, allowing them to build core competencies. 

The PGDM curriculum is designed as progressive learning with core subjects that provide practical, hands-on applications of concepts through the case method, use of examples, and interactive approaches. Faculty members also provide supplementary academic support, ie. offering additional support under circumstances that require additional assistance (referred to as "? ). 

As well, communication skills training, aptitude workshops, and group projects support students from a diverse range of academic backgrounds in transitioning confidently into the business world and adapting to working in teams. Students have access to a variety of support structures that will assist them to succeed in the PGDM, regardless of their previous academic experience or qualifications.

The GIBS Business School has a structured ecosystem in place to support students interested in entrepreneurship (i.e. innovation, mentoring, and practical experience with a startup). The programme is called the Innovation, Research and Entrepreneurship Program (IRE) and involves studentsʼ working with faculty and industry mentors on their entrepreneurial business ideas/research projects/startup ideas.

Students in IRE have the ability to attend workshops on entrepreneurship, attend mentorship sessions for startups, participate in business plan competitions, and network with successful entrepreneurs & investors (i.e. GIBS creates an environment to help students connect with other entrepreneurs and learn from them).

In addition, GIBS encourages students to participate in live projects, internships at startups, and incubation-style activities so they can test their ideas.

By supporting aspiring entrepreneurs in this manner, GIBS helps students develop problem-solving skills, leadership skills, and gain experience launching and managing a business before they even graduate.

The new GIBS Business School campus is a contemporary, state-of-the-art facility designed to promote innovation, academic achievement and student comfort for everyone who studies here. The infrastructure consists of smart learning environments complemented by technology designed to provide students with effective learning opportunities through both practical and theoretical application.

Facilities at GIBS include:

The GIBS Placement Cell aims to create a placement process that encourages transparency, structure and student orientation. Each student in the programme has knowledge of the eligibility criteria, important dates, recruitment guidelines and expectations, from the very beginning. Student has a clear pathway with clearly identified sections of the placement process, including resume preparation, mock interviews, group discussions and company shortlisting; therefore, they know what to prepare for and when. The Placement Team keeps you constantly updated on upcoming drives, participating companies and the profiles for the company's roles and gathers your feedback to improve the placement process. The student is notified in advance of the shortlisting and interviewing schedule; therefore, student has the necessary resources during the entire process from pre-placement to final offer negotiation. The placement process provides the structure, transparency, and sufficiency of the student will to enable and ultimately increase the student's opportunity to secure a good job.

The internship and live project experience are important components of the GIBS Curriculum because they allow students to connect academic study with practical application in the workplace. Internships provide students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working at a company, learn more about the culture of the organisation and apply theories learned in class to solve challenges faced by businesses.

Live projects provide students with an opportunity to work on real-time issues that the industry is dealing with; students will be required to analyze data, create strategies and make presentations to industry professionals on how they would approach these problems. These hands-on experiences help develop students' problem-solving skills, improve their decision-making abilities, build teamwork skills and confidence.

Additionally, the internship and live project experience gives students an advantage in creating a strong resume and enhances their employability by providing them with experience working in the industry prior to graduation.

The biggest shock for me after starting at GIBS was the immense amount of practical learning and real business exposure that we received. The college actively engages us with guests speakers (who are often corporate leaders), and they take us on site visits to local businesses, have us do live projects, and provide access to personal mentors. The amazing support system (staff) and personal attention provided by the faculty, as well as their focus on developing skills, leadership ability, and personal growth all stand out as very different from what I expected from typical business schools. It's apparent that GIBS is very much not a traditional business school, but a school that is genuinely preparing students for the realities of the working world.

The information provided by student dialogue and the information supplied by the institution, indicates that the new campus of GIBS will be built as an integrated, compact management school campus where all major facilities are a short distance away.

Campus General Size and Distribution of Space:

Campus Size 

The total approximate area of GIB'S new campus varies from approximately 5 – 10 acres, based upon the phase and source.

A significant portion of student dialogue mentions that the main academic setup will be approximately 5 acres.

Academics Area 

Academics will encompass the largest area of the new campus and will be located primarily in the central portion of the new campus, making it easily accessible to students.

Hostel/Home 

Home/Hostel blocks will be separately designated for boys and girls and will include common areas, and study/lounge areas for hostel residents.

Sports Facilities/Retail Soccer 

Soccer will be available on the playing field; as will be other outdoor sports.

Table Tennis (Indoor) and Other Types of Indoor Sports 

The new campus will also provide an area for Table Tennis (Indoor) as well as other types of indoor sports, in addition to the playing fields.

Green Spaces/Open Space 

• Landscaped park areas, walking paths and seating areas.
• Will provide an area for events, student activities and relaxing.
• Recreation and Common Space 

The new campus will include cafeteria space, student lounge space, and club activity space. In addition, an area that can be used for putting on cultural events and informal get-togethers will be included.
