I have completed my PGDM from GIBS Bangalore. Based on my personal experience, GIBS is a good college, but comparison depends on individual expectations.

  • Compared to top colleges like Christ, Jain, NMIMS, GIBS is more simple and focused on basic learning
  • GIBS is good for students who want a supportive environment and personal attention
  • Focus is more on practical activities, presentations, and communication skills
  • Placements are decent, mostly in sales, marketing, HR, and entry-level roles
  • Other colleges may have stronger brand value, but GIBS helps in steady growth if you are serious

I have also struggled in the starting, later did my resear

I have completed my PGDM from GIBS Bangalore. Based on my personal experience, GIBS is different from many other B-schools.

  • GIBS focuses more on practical learning than only theory.
  • More importance is given to presentations, group activities, and communication skills.
  • Faculty is supportive and gives personal attention to students.
  • Environment is more about personality development and confidence building.
  • Regular workshops and activities help in real corporate exposure.
  • Students are encouraged to participate and improve soft skills.

You don't strictly need CAT to get into GIBS Business School. They accept both CAT and MAT scores, but even if you haven't appeared for them, you can still get admission through their direct admission or interview process.

  • CAT → accepted, helps in selection

  • MAT → also accepted, gives another option

  • No exam → possible through interview or direct admission

  • Focus on communication, confidence, and overall profile

In short, GIBS is flexible. You can join even without CAT or MAT if you perform well in the selection process.

I feel for admission into GIBS Bangalore, you can take any of the common management entrance exams. The college accepts scores from exams like MAT, CAT, CMAT, XAT, and sometimes GMAT.

  • MAT – Many students take this; widely accepted.
  • CAT – Can also be used, but not mandatory.
  • CMAT/XAT – Accepted and gives more options.
  • GMAT – Useful if you also think about international options.

I feel the easiest way is to pick one or two of these exams, prepare well, and aim for a decent score. That will give you a good chance to get into GIBS without stressing over a single test.

GIBS Bangalore is actually pretty decent when it comes to placements. You get a chance to sit in front of some real companies, not just random small ones.

Recruiters include HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Reliance, Amazon, TCS, Flipkart, Wipro and many more MNC's
Options in marketing, finance, HR, operations depends on your interest and specialization.
Internships often lead to final placements
Campus helps prep for interviews and selection
Gives a good starting point for your career
And one of the best college in terms of placements and ROI.
