MIT Manipal's mechanical department is excellent and its brand value is higher, therefore you are recommended to opt for it.

You are advised to opt for B.Tech CS at SNU. It has world class faculty.

If you're an NRI then you may not write the exam and simply apply through NRI applications but if you're not, you'll have to give the exam.

The placement for the core branches are really good. Manipal has a strong establishment and we keep adding new companies for placements every year. Big companies like Deloitte as well small companies come for placements and provide a good enough package.

I am not very sure if you'll get a seat. The seats for CSE are already full. You can give your name for waitlist. Considering your rank if there are any seats available later, then you'll have a better probability of getting in.

I don't think you'll get a seat in civil directly but you can give your name for the waitlist or go for branch change at the end of 1st year. You might get it. Civil gets over around 15k.

When it comes to mechanical, MIT is really good. There are well equipped labs, good library, good infrastructure, learned professors, a lot of student projects which are funded by the college upto a certain extend( there's no funding in VIT). The two colleges MIGHT ALMOST be at par, but when it comes to campus life, MIT is much better. Even the Manipal as a town is much better than vellore and all this really affects your overall development. I would suggest you to go for MIT any day.

CSE branch in Manipal was really good. The faculty is amazing and there are many clubs for cs enthusiasts. We have hackathons regularly too. The placement for CS is also very good. Companies like Microsoft and Oracle also come for recruitment.

Manipal seems to have a bad reputation to the outside world somehow but trust me once you come here its nothing like the stories you've heard. It's a lot better than what people think. It is not different than any other college. I suggest Manipal would be a better option and VIT Chennai is a new campus and is small and had limited facilities. Faculty of MIT is well experienced. You wont regret getting admission in this college.

The fees for NRI in Aeronautical engineering will be somewhere around Rs.3 lakhs. We do not deal with Aircraft maintenance here. It is not approved by DGCA.
