We do not have a management quota. There is NRI admissions but you need to be an NRI or a sponsored NRI for that. The forms for that are available on the Manipal University site.

This is what the college website says- 'We do not have any management quota. Only two categories - general category, admissions of which are based on the ranking obtained by the student in the entrance exam conducted by Manipal University and the other is foreign/NRI category, where admissions are direct based on merit as per the marks/grades obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent exam) for MBBS and for all other courses on a first come basis if the candidate meets the eligibility requirements.' The college is quite strict for admission by donations when it comes to non-NRI students.

Mechanical in Manipal main campus is quite good. We have all the facilities, from well equipped labs and workshops to a number of opportunities. There are a number of projects that students do in the college and one can be a part of it and learn a number of practical things.
As far as the trend or which branch is better, to be frank there's nothing like that. Every branch is unique in it's own way. Be it mechanical, CSE, biotechnology or be it ECE. And it really doesn't matter which branch you choose. For instance if you choose mechanical but when you enter college you also started liking CSE, so you can study CSE too and sit in the pl

Yes it is. Mechanical department in Manipal is quite good. I won't say all professors are good but many professors are really learned. We have well equipped labs, workshops and there are several opportunities especially when it comes to mechanical engineering. There are a lot of student projects like formula Manipal, solarMobil, etc. which gives students a hands on experience on practicality of machines.

Both the branches here are equally good teaching wise. The mechanical department is bigger though and has higher intake and more faculty. For both branches we have well equipped labs and quite knowledgeable professors. Placements is better for Mechanical since it's a more sought after branch.

MIT is one of the best private engineering college. The campus is huge and has all sorts of facilities a student may need. The professors teach really well and pay attention to all the students. Every department is doing its best. We have all recreational facilities too. There are many clubs for better growth of students. You get to do practical work and learn yourself. Placements for most branches are good.

Maximum package goes somewhere around 6-8 lacs p.a. However, the starting package of mechanical engineers is comparatively less than other engineers.

When I have the entrance, people only who got above 100 got aeronautical. However you might get aeronautical in the last counselling round or may be in the second year. But I would advice not to take the risk of getting it in the 2nd year.
