I won't say that all the courses are worth the pay. At the end it all narrows down to what you do in the college. You are provided with all the facilities be it well equipped library, labs, 24 hours WiFi and even research grants. It is you who has to decide what to do with all the facilities. If you make use of all the facilities, then yes it's worth spending. Apart from all this there's wonderful campus life. There are people from different parts of globe. After joining college I have friends in Singapore, Dubai and different parts of the country. All this counts. There are feats at national levels and if you participate you get to meet people even from different colleges.

I can't tell you about SRM but I can only tell you about the facilities in MIT. When it comes to mechanical, MIT is quite good. We have well equipped labs, workshops, CNC training, latest software's like catia as a part of the college curriculum. Apart from it, I won't say all but yeah but professors are really learned. Apart from all this there are a number of student projects running which gives you a hands on practicality experience at under graduate level. I am myself a part of such project and being a part of such a project I have learnt TIG welding.
Facilities at MIT are quite good. There's 24 hour WiFi in most parts of the campus. In hostels it's always there. There's always a well equipped library. Average package here is around 6 Lanka P.a.
