The questions asked in the entrance exam covers basic four parts i.e., language (English, Hindi or any other), general knowledge, current affairs, print and electronic media. The questions are asked around these four aspects. This is done to analyses the knowledge bank of a student, how much he/she is aware of the surroundings. And your proficiency in your language is tested.
So, read newspaper daily, watch news channels, read books etc. It will definitely help you to appear in entrance exam.

Hello Simran Subject that focuses on language, interaction, general knowledge, current affairs, writing skills, vocabulary, history and present scenario of communication. So, the questions are asked from these zones. You must have the knowledge of whats going in and around your society. Be updated always for that read as much as a newspaper, you can watch news channels carefully. Apart from this, not only news but you must have the knowledge of some other fields too like India-China clashes, Rohingya cases, Cambridge Analitica, a little bit of history of media and communication and many more. Profession of mass communication and journalism requires a big bucket of knowledge. So before buying books your first focus should be collecting as much as knowledge you can, that is possible if you daily read newspapers ad read simple NCERT books. Apart from this here I am suggesting some important books so that you can prepare yourself for journalism and mass communication entrance exams. First of all refer two publications - Arihant and Keval J. Kumar. These both are considered good for preparation. You will get a lot of content in their books. Mass communication in India by Keval J. Hello Rashmi,
St. Xavier's is one of the prestigious and faithful brands. It is a huge value place and study pattern is awesome there. So, it is obviously a nice choice. St. Xavier's conducts an entrance exam to get the students from all the corners. You just need to clear that. Apart, from this I'll advice you to make a proper check of its study pattern, facilities, fee structure etc. Apart from Ranchi, you can also consider one in Mumbai or Kolkata.

You must focus upon to gain as much as knowledge you can. This could be done in various ways like
-Newspaper Daily (both English and Hindi)
-Books
-Atlas
-watch news channels
-watch debates
-read articles daily. So, in this way you may acquire a lot of knowledge. Now, what all factors are to be focused? To prepare yourself for entrance go for the following: communication (both languages but major focus on one language of your choice). Second work upon your current affairs, than on general knowledge from all the fields. Thank you.
