Profession of mass communication and journalism requires a big bucket of knowledge. So before buying books your first focus should be collecting as much as knowledge you can, that is possible if you daily read newspapers ad read simple NCERT books. Apart from this here I am suggesting some important books so that you can prepare yourself for journalism and mass communication entrance exams. First of all refer two publications - Arihant and Keval J. Kumar. These both are considered good for preparation. You will get a lot of content in their books. Mass communication in India by Keval J. Journalism and mass communication. As the eligibility for this course is just completion of +2 from recognized board. However, the marks criteria depends upon the college. As some private colleges/universities ask for 50%-55% marks in +2. While the government colleges pass out the cut- off list.

GGSIPU is one of the oldest universities in Delhi, and is considered to be the good one. The courses available there are focused nicely and beautifully. If you are thinking about the placements, then make the thing clear that it all depends upon the talents and caliber of the student. So, if you are joining anywhere for this course remember this course requires knowledge, friendly attitude, alert, and smart enough to tackle the situations. The university is good. There is just one campus situated in Dwarka that offers M.A. In mass communication. Due to this you can say the competition is high. The seats are allotted to the students in this campus only. The distribution of the seats is all depends upon the rank you have deserved. There are two types of courses/classes conducted in the campus for the mass communication its regular classes and weekend classes. There is a specified number of seats in regular batch and in weekend batch.

About Diploma course in mass communication. But, why are you going for Diploma? If you have interest in mass communication, then go for a proper degree course in mass communication, as it will help you to fetch a good job. And, after Bachelors degree in mass communication, go for Masters degree in mass communication.

Prepare yourself for the following aspects:
- General Knowledge
- Current affairs
- History of print, media, how media helped during independence struggle, how media existed in past times- Tamrapatra lekh, wall paints, etc.
- Communication, its forms, types, history
- Politics
- Language paper (English or Hindi)
