All topics in MAT Examination are equally important however some of the topics to keep in fingertips are as follows:

1)  Data Analysis and Sufficiency : Texts, tables, graphs, charts, and Venn diagrams should be learned to observe and interpret the data. 

2) Language Comprehension: Grammar Vocabulary Reading Comprehension, Phrases/Idioms Para Jumbles Sentence Completion, One Word Substitution Antonyms/Synonyms Sentence Correction, Parts of Speech Verbal Ability. 

3) Mathematical Skills: LCM and HCF Profit and Loss Speed, Time and Distance, Commercial Maths Sequence And Series Triangles, Complex Numbers Surds and Indices Set Theory, Percentages Interest (Simple and Compound) Number System, Permutation and Combinations Heights and Distance Circles, Binomial Theorem Inequalities Mixtures and Alligations, Geometry Trigonometry Linear Programming, Elementary Mathematics Venn Diagrams Equations. 

4) Intelligence and Critical Reasoning : Family Tree, Arrangement Calendars, Strong and Weak Arguments Series Coding & Decoding, Multi-Dimensional Arrangements Numeric Grid Syllogisms, Course of Action Pie Chart Statement Conclusions, Puzzles Blood Relations, Column Graphs, Visual Reasoning, Critical Reasoning, Graphs Representing Area.

The MAT Internet Based Test (IBT) mode has become increasingly popular among MBA aspirants over the last three years due to its flexibility and convenience. Introduced by the All India Management Association (AIMA) in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IBT mode allows candidates to take the MAT exam from the comfort of their homes. This remote proctored exam provided a secure alternative during the pandemic, eliminating the need for candidates to leave their homes. Despite the easing of COVID-related concerns, candidates continue to prefer the IBT mode for its accessibility. This mode also benefits students in areas without a MAT test center, requiring only a computer system and internet connection.

Total marks of MAT exam is 150. Every question carries one mark for correct attempt and there is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. No marks is deducted for skipping questions. The MAT question paper has 150 questions equally divided into five sections - Language Comprehension, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis & Data Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills and Economic and Business Environment.

Every section therefore has 30 questions which means every section carries 30 marks. The scores of GK section is not considered for MAT percentile calculation. So candidates can keep GK section as their last priority.
