An MBA is more popular and has become necessary if one wishes to pursue a career in the corporate sector. Usually, one would choose a specific stream to specialize in (Finance, Marketing, Operations Management, etc. ). And therefore an MBA helps to improve your immediate employability. On the other hand, an M.Com has a completely different scope. I would say, based on my experience, that it is more theoretical and one can choose to study a number of different electives such as international trade, insurance, etc. In addition to the usual ones such as finance, marketing, etc. However, an M.Com alone would probably not help you to get a good job in the corporate sector, although it is a great option if you wish to pursue research/Ph.D or teach at a college level.
