If you are asking about PDM/MBA, then the top 2 institutes in Lucknow are IIM-Lucknow, and Jaipuria Institute of Management Lucknow. If you wish to pursue your PG from Lucknow, try to do your best in CAT and get enrolled in either of the two. Don't fall for other institutes, most are fake. I belong to Lucknow and I know most of them. Except these two (IIM-L and Jaipuria), if you go to any other b-school in Lucknow, they will give you admission right away, maybe they'll give you discounts to win your trust. Sadly, most people are fooled by these fake colleges. And after two years, the students realize that they're not ready for the corporate world, no personality development, and the last nail on the coffin is fake placements. God save the world. Anyways, you asked for top two. As per my knowledge and experience, there are only two institutes you can trust, first, obviously, IIM-Lucknow. And second is Jaipuria Institute of Management Lucknow. I don't think that I need to say anything about IIM-Lucknow, everyone knows they are the best. Regarding Jaipuria Institute of management, I've been there. I've seen the environment. They are doing good for the last 25 years or so. The faculty highly qualified and really helpful, too many curricular and extra curricular activities, personality transformation and good placements. In fact they let their students appear for placements in all four campuses (Lucknow, Noida, Jaipur, and Indore). I know its really hard to get in an IIM. If youget through, great. Otherwise go for Jaipuria Institute.

I might sound unclear to you, but the reality is that it totally depends on you and your skills. What skills you are best in? Which specialization do you personally think of as very easy to do? I see many of the students get admission in Marketing specialisation just for the sake of SCOPE but on the other hand the truth is, he/she is unable to convince for their product or unable to complete the given targets in a deadline. So, Ramadevi I am suggesting you some steps to go through, which I personally did:-
1) Firstly, try to find all of the specializations thoroughly in MBA provided in India (if seeing for foreign institutes then do the respective thing, internationally), yes it would take you a week or two.
2) Then choose 5 to 6 specializations of your interest.
3) Then find out the near future scopes of that particular field, it would ultimately cut your 2-3 specializations
4) Then find the colleges which provide you the same specializations which are listed in the list.
5) Crosscheck your capability that can you take admission in that institute after cracking CAT or XAT. (It would again unlist your 2-3 institutions)
6) Then at last the course which suits best for you, and the college which has very impressive placement history, and faculty is super, just go for it.

Yes, it is mandatory to appear in CAT or MAT or XAT or CMAT, etc in order to get admission in Jaipuria Institute of Management. This percentile score contributes to 45% weightage during admission process.
The admission procedure comprises of following factors:
1. Score in in CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ GMAT : 45% (maximum Weightage)
2. Case-based Group Discussion : 15%
3. Personal Interview: 20%
