65% in graduation makes you eligible to sit for the entrance exams and colleges for MBA but the selection procedure depends on the performance showcased in the various rounds of elimination (group discussion, personal interview, case study analysis, etc.). Almost, all of the colleges shortlist candidates on the basis of some entrance exam such as CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, SNAP, etc. Many colleges conduct their own entrance exams. If you have not begun for anything yet, then shortlist the colleges that suit your parameters (such as placement rate, infrastructure, location, fee, faculty, etc.). And then check the selection process of those colleges. Such analysis will give you a fair idea of which exam should you be appearing for and how much score/percentile is required. Switching fields can, at times, be difficult but if you have a flair and passion for marketing then you should go for MBA in marketing. Almost all the institutes start with the basics during the first semester, hence, domain and knowledge wise, you will not be facing many problems but you will have to keep your mind open and will have to learn quickly. One of the major problems comes during the placement interviews where the recruiter wants a justified solution to as to why have you switched fields. If you are unable to defend your move, then it leaves a wrong impression on the interviewer, allowing him/her to think that you do not have goal clarity. If you can prove your worth during internships, then getting a job becomes easier.

I might sound philosophical. However, I am of the view to seek admission into the college that suits my budget. As far as the college is concerned, the institutions have got their names because of the students who have proved to be a milestone for others. Managerial capabilities are already there in a person. It is only you rediscover them by your experience. The institutions provide you the material in writing and give you a practical exposure. However, the most practical exposure and skillset you develop is in your job as you face the real challenges. If you are determined enough, than you yourself are an institution for others. Marks on black and white is just a formality of completion of a course. Moreover, the institutions design their course to make the students industry ready. So just go for what suits your budget.
