No, Admission to ILS Law College for the first year of five-year and three-year law programmes is based on the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH CET). The college does not have a separate entrance examination. The exam is conducted in online mode. Balasaheb Thackeray Law College accepts MHCET for admission to LL.B., B.L.S. LL.B. and B.A. LL.B. The cutoff for each course varies. As per the latest cutoff, thegeneral cuoff for B.L.S. LL.B. closed at 99. It is advisable to visit the official website for course wise cutoff.

The MH CET Law 2026 answer key for the 3-year LLB course was released on April 29, 2026. Candidates were allowed to raise objections against the answer key during the answer key objection window between May 1 to May 3, 2026. The fee per objection was INR 1,000.

Yes, students can do Law without appearing for MHCET Law but they have to appear for other entrance exams like CLAT, LSAT India, etc. to be considered eligible for studying Law in Mumbai.

In the MH CET Law counselling process, candidates are given two options after the seat allotment: Freeze and Float. These options allow candidates to decide whether they want to accept the allotted seat or keep their options open for further rounds of counselling.
