M.Sc Medical Microbiology is a very good option, and if you are interested in medical /clinical/pharmaceutical sector, it is preferred. But if you want to be an all-rounder then general microbiology is the best option.

It depends in what type of college you want admission. For example, if you want admission in government college, then it will be not so costly. If you want in private, it will be costly and if you want abroad.

Scope of medical microbiology:
If you are MBBS and MD in medical microbiology there is a lot of scope. You can join diagnostic laboratories for which they paid you high amount. You can also join any medical college for teaching as well as laboratory work. In private medical college again they pay well or according to your expectations. If you are M.Sc. And Ph.D. in medical microbiology, you are not eligible for to do work in clinical and diagnostic laboratory according to clinical act 2010.
