The advantages of KJ Somaiya College of engineering are:
1. In the KJSCE exams end earlier than Mumbai University and you get a decent amount of time to prepare for your GRE/GMAT and TOEFL/IELTS. If you utilize this time well, you might be able to score good marks in these exams, making things easier or you can do internship to make your profile better. Plus, autonomous colleges have early re-exams. So, even if you fail (try not to), KT in 8th semester won't be an issue in your schedule.
2. The college has a decent reputation. Yes, KJSCE isn't IIT, but it still can get you into a decent company. Work experience from companies like this will be another key point, if you are planning to get some work experience before opting for PG.
3. Faculty members: KJSCE has some really good faculty members who will not only make you study hard, but also encourage you to contribute in technical activities. Many senior faculty members have good research papers under their names and if you imbibe their knowledge, it will be really helpful.
4. Overall atmosphere, In KJSCE, you will come across some really talented students. There is a lot of potential in students and many of them opt for PG. You can form your own study group and study in the college library.
So, KJSCE is one of the reputed colleges.

COEP is a premier institute while SPCE is not even known by that many people. Among the two COEP is the winner. COEP has been ranked one in Maharashtra after the IITs and NITs. According to MHRD rankings COEP is ranked 24th while SPCE is on not even in top 100.
Generally speaking COEP blows SPCE out of the water. COEP is much well-known and trusted among recruiters as compared to MIT. Last time COEP had around 83.8 % placements for mechanical (this number seems less as the students who didn't accept the offers are also included) and the average salary was around 6-7 LPA for mechanical department which is more compared to SPCE.
COEP in also better in academics and extra-curricular are compared to SPCE. What I have learnt from staying one year in Tamil Nadu is that COEP is well known all over India but the same is not the case with SPCE.
So go for COEP over SPCE.

Mechanical engineering in VJTI is a lot better than SPCE, Mumbai in every possible parameter you can think of. Below, I would state the reasons supporting this statement, in terms of advantages that you will get over taking admission in SPCE Mumbai:
1. VJTI has a lot better reputation in comparison to SPCE, Mumbai for excellence in academics all over the state.
2. The college has the best faculty in mechanical branch than any other college in the state.
3. The college attract core number of core companies, in comparison to SPCE, Mumbai.
4. Due to the low acceptance rate at VJTI, the quality of students at VJTI is a lot better than the student quality at SPCE, Mumbai.
5. The total placement percentage at VJTI being 96%, is a lot more than total placement percentage at SPCE, Mumbai.
Hence, by every means, I would recommend you to get for VJTI only, and you will regret getting admission at SPCE, Mumbai.
