Those who want to teach in primary or upper primary schools should qualify the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by the concerned government. If they want to teach in secondary schools, then they should qualify the State Eligibility Test (SET) conducted by the respective state government.

Firstly, you need to earn a Bachelor's degree in music and elementary education with an emphasis in music.
For a career in music education, College Board recommends that while in high school, you study music theory, English and computers as well as how to play an instrument. You should also consider participating in school bands and choral groups. You can apply in private schools or in kindergarden.
High school music teachers typically teach instrumental music and/or vocal music to students as part of a larger band, orchestra or vocal music program.

I would suggest you to go for a certification or short-term course rather than going for PG Diploma. There are practically very limited opportunities in the field of music.
