Nautical Science

Entry requirements:
You can join the merchant navy from age 16 as an officer cadet or as an apprentice able seafarer (deck). You'll need at least 4 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English, maths and physics (or combined Science) or equivalent qualifications. If you have A levels or equivalent, in maths or Science, you could do an industry-backed HND, foundation degree, or degree. Subjects include nautical Science, and navigation and maritime Science. If you already have a degree, you'll usually be able to join a graduate programme and train as an officer in a shorter time. You'll need to pass a medical exam which will include a physical fitness and eyesight test. You'll usually need a maritime sponsoring company to put you through initial training.

Fisheries and aquaculture are one of best leading business and industry in the world. In fisheries section you may join for B.F.Sc. Or M.F.Sc. Or B.Sc. Or M.Sc. In fisheries or aquaculture. It opens the window towards the mass opportunities in fisheries. There are large number of vacancies in government and private section. Today, all over the world the Marine fish capture will be decreased but the fish consumption rate increases. So, the field of aquaculture have a great opportunity in future. In India there are several research institutions like CMFRI, CIBA, CIFT, CIFA, NFDB, NBFGR, NIO, RGCA etc. Done research works on fisheries and Aquaculture sections. And also so many private companies do aquaculture, Post harvest processing and exporting of Fisheries products. There are so much career options in exporting and business field related to fisheries. Several institutions offer MBA also on fisheries.
