The UGC NET exam was held from 2 to 6 Dec in two shifts. The final cut off marks depends on the various factors like number of candidates appeared in the exam, level of difficulty, attempts in the exam and final cut off marks etc. The cut off marks for the previous year Education subject paper was 58% for JRF & Assistant and 49% for only assistant. You might get selected for only assistant if the final cut off goes not so high. Yes, you are eligible for NET exam. The SET and NET exams are held for the selection of candidates for lectureship and junior research fellowship. The difference between the NET and SET is that SET is eligible for state level universities hence called state eligibility test while NET qualified candidates are eligible for National level universities or colleges and stands for National eligibility test. To appear for NET exam, you must have post graduation degree. As you have cleared SET exam, you are eligible to apply for assistant professor posts in the state level institutes, universities. To apply for other state and national level universities, you should apply for the NET exam. There is no other difference apart from the state level eligibility.

Hello Shalu, According to the UGC norms, the candidates who have completed the post graduation degree with more than 55% marks from recognised university can apply for the exam, The UGC NET exam is organized for the selection of candidates for assistant professor and JRF. The minimum eligibility is post graduation. There is no age limit for the lectureship but the candidates must be below 30 years for the JRF. The university that you have graduated from must be approved by UGC. The UGC has released a list of universities that are approved and eligible for NET exam. Hello, The UGC NET Exam is conducted in 81 subjects by the National Testing Agency. Out of these 81 subjects, there is a subject "education" in the UGC NET subjects list. So, if you want to appear in the UGC NET Exam then you are suggested to apply for the UGC NET Education subject. Here you can check the pattern of exam -
There will be two papers in exam I. e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. The exam will be held of total 3 hours OF 300 marks. There will be no negative marking. So, this was the pattern of the UGC NET Exam. The exam is conducted twice a year by NTA (June and December). You can apply for any of these two sessions to appear in exam. Hope it helps!
