New Hampshire

To help students who need financial assistance, the University of New Hampshire grants substantial financial aid.  The following scholarships are available for international applicants:

• Trustee’s Scholarship (Merit-Based): This scholarship is given to domestic and international first-year applicants. The annual amount of this scholarship for NH residents is USD 9,000, while for international students, it is USD 12,000.

• Chancellor’s Scholarship: This scholarship is given to domestic and international first-year applicants. The annual amount of this scholarship for NH residents is USD 7,000, while for international students, it is USD 10,000.

• Presidential Scholarship: This scholarship is given to domestic and international first-year applicants. The annual amount of this scholarship for NH residents is USD 5,000, while for non-residents or international students, it is USD 8,000.

• Dean’s Scholarship: This scholarship is given to domestic and international first-year applicants. The annual amount of this scholarship for NH residents is USD 3,000, while for non-residents or international students, it is USD 6,000.

• Director’s Scholarship: This scholarship is given to domestic and international first-year applicants. The annual amount of this scholarship for NH residents is USD 1,000, while for non-residents or international students, it is USD 4,000.

•  Athletic Scholarships: These scholarships are given to first-year applicants who participate in competitive sports as student-athletes. The scholarship amount is variable.

• International Student Scholarships: These scholarships are given to first-year applicants who join the university as international students. The scholarship amount is variable.

The application process at the UNH may vary slightly depending on the course and level of study you are applying for, but the general steps are as follows: 

For Undergraduate courses: 

Step 1:  You can apply through the common applicants portal. 

Step 2: Go to the website and select the course you are interested in.

Step 3: Make sure you meet the Entry requirements (Such as Academic qualifications, English proficiency, etc.)

 Step 4: Once you decide on the course, submit documents such as SOP, Transcripts and personal statements.  

         Step 5 : After you apply, you will get an automated email from the university that they have received your application within 2-3 days. 

Postgraduate Application Process 

Step 1: Select the postgraduate programme you are interested in from the official website.

Step 2: Ensure you meet the entry requirements for the chosen program, as these vary depending on the course.

Step 3: Complete the online application providing your personal information.

Step 4: Upload the required documents, such as academic transcripts, proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS), experience in your field and references.

Step 5: After you apply, you will get an automated email from the university that they have received your application.

 Step 6: If your application is successful, you will receive an offer from UNH.

Below are the eligibility criteria for New Hampshire University;

Undergraduate requirements at New Hampshire University:

ACT and SAT scores (optional): SAT and ACT for your overall score. However, if you have taken the test more than once, you are suggested to submit the highest scores on the SAT or ACT.  

Transcripts of your high school: Transcripts include your information and performance in high school and other scores such as entrance exams, i.e. SAT or ACT.

LOR: At UNH, all programs ask for a LOR, and with particular exceptions, who should write those letters. 

 SOP: A SOP helps the applicant to convey their talents, Academic excellence accomplishments and personal background of applicants.

Portfolio ( depending on your chosen course):  This depends on the course the applicant is choosing, as this is not present in every program. However, having a creative and unique portfolio will help you get into UNH.

PG Course Requirements: 

LOR: Applicants must submit the  LOR, and with particular exceptions, who should write those letters. 

Statement of purpose( an SOP):  It helps the applicant to convey their talents, Academic excellence accomplishments and personal background of applicants. 

Transcripts and degrees: The applicant must provide the university with transcripts of their academics with degree certificates. Similarly, applying for PhD or doctoral program may require a master’s degree and transcripts from all graduate institutions of the applicant. 

English Language Proficiency exams: The following table explains the minimum score  of each English exam the university is accepting: 

Entrance exam: Graduate school entrance exams are most common, but the programs might require different exams from the applicants. The most common exam UNH accepts from applicants is GRE(  Graduate Record Examination) and GMAT. 

Resume/CV:  The University also might ask you for a CV or a resume, depending on the course you choose for professional experience.
