The mock tests for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will be conducted on the admission portals at niftadmissions.in. Candidates can log in using their roll number to access the mock tests.
NIFT will provide updates about the mock tests on its website after the admission notification is released. Mock tests are usually scheduled closer to the entrance exam, approximately one or two weeks before the exam date.
Taking these mock tests will allow candidates to fine-tune their exam preparation.

The mock tests are meant to be taken closer to the NIFT 2024 exam. This means you won't gain a lot of benefit if you start taking mock tests early in your exam preparation. Instead in the early stages, solve sample papers and previous years question papers. You can solve sample papers after completing a topic; for instance, pick all the relevant questions related to that topic and solve them. In the last few days leading up to the exam, you can start taking mock tests. The mock tests will help you plug last minute gaps and understand what the exam-day would look and feel like.

Along with sample papers, mock tests are considered essential tools to prepare for the NIFT 2024 exam. However, considering the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) may or may not conduct mock tests for the NIFT 2024 exam, the candidate may conduct mock tests of other exams. For instance, the candidate may take mock tests conducted by the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID). But it may be noted that the difficulty level of the SEED exam is not at par with the NIFT exam. The NIFT admission committee may take student queries in case the NIFT exam is conducted as a remote-proctored exam. In this case, special hotlines may be created to help the candidate get their system in place. But note that as of now, there is no notification yet whether the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will conduct mock tests or not. The institute will release the relevant notification, if needed, on its official website, once the admission process gets underway. In the NIFT 2022 exam, when the exam was held in a remote-proctored mode, candidate were allowed to ask queries during the mock test.

The mock tests will include representational questions, or questions similar to the ones asked in the entrance exam. Mock tests are not meant to be alternative to holistic exam preparation for NIFT 2024. This means the candidate must first go through the text books, learn the concepts, solve the problem Sets given at the end of each chapter or from problem booklets, and take notes. Also, solve sample papers to develop ones problem-solving and time-management skills. The prime purpose of mock tests is to help the candidate get an exam-like experience and fix last minute gaps. So, mock tests are tools to improve ones chances of getting a few extra marks and thus improving ones chances of admission.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) may or may not conduct mock tests. So, the candidate can take mock tests conducted by coaching institutes or by online outlets to practice for the exam. Typically, the more mock tests a candidate takes, the better it is from an exam point of view. But note that mock tests are meant to be taken closer to the exam, to simply get into exam mode. So, in the early stages of one's exam preparation, one must make it a point to solve sample papers and previous years question papers.

Note that during COVID 19, the mock tests were used as a tool to help candidates get accustomed to the application and the process as the NIFT 2022 exam was held as a remote-based exam. Consequently, the mock tests were made mandatory, given candidates were appearing in the exam from their homes or a place of their picking. Note that no mock tests were held for NIFT 2023 exam. However, if in the future mocks are held, the candidate will have to go to NIFT admission portal and click on the mock test link. Then follow the following steps given below to take the NIFT 2024 mock tests:
Clicking on the mock test link will re-direct you to a log-in page
Enter your Roll number
On successful log-in, the mock test will appear on the screen
Go through the guidelines
