Master Programmes
There is no age bar for applying to the Masters Programmes in NIFT. Eligibility for Masters Programmes Design, Management and TechnologyDesign: M. Des (Master of Design)
Candidates must have successfully completed any of the following:
Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognised by law in India or
Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID. Note: Master of Design (M. Des. ) is an advanced course that demands an understanding of fundamentals in design and presupposes that candidates would be familiar with the basic skills and theories for successful completion of the programme. The course would not provide any basic knowledge and skill development in design as a part of its Master programme. Management : M. F. M (Master of Fashion Management)
Candidates must have successfully completed any of the following:
Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognised by law in India
Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID
Technology : M. F. Tech. (Master of Fashion Technology)
Candidates must have successfully completed any of the following:
B. F. Tech. from NIFT
B.E / B.Tech. from any Institute / University recognised by law in India. IMPORTANT NOTE
Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2018 are also eligible to apply. They will be required to produce proof of having acquired necessary qualifications by the time of counselling or admission. For details please see the prospectus. RESERVATION OF SEATS
The seats reserved for various categories in each programme are as under:
Scheduled Castes 15%
Scheduled Tribes 7.5%
Other Backward Communities (non creamy) 27%
Persons With Disability (PWD) 5% (horizontal reservation cutting across categories)
Foreign Nationals/ SAARC/NRI 15% (supernumerary)
State Domiciles 20% (supernumerary)
The qualifying candidates need to meet the eligibility and admission requirements of NIFT. Details of seats available category wise can be seen in the Prospectus. Campus and programme will be allotted on rotation, at NIFTs discretion.
