Hi, generally there are two to three types of computer software fields that Class 12 PCB students can look out for.
- The first option is the IT and Software field. It has coding, app and software development. There are 10,000+ IT and Software colleges in India. And the most common undergraduate course is BCA or Bachelor of Computer Applications. Several top BCA colleges in India do not require Maths background either, but aspirants have to take up some bridge courses. One example is SAITM Gurgaon.
- The second option is Bioinformatics or similar by choosing a more theoetical foundation in Computer Science through any of th

Honestly, if you're comparing private vs government purely for software engineering, government colleges usually have stronger brand value on the degree, but the real difference comes down to environment and opportunities. A private college like Thapar University is often seen as one of the top private engineering colleges in india because it gives you a strong peer group, active coding culture, and good placement exposure, which matters just as much as brand later on. In the end, a supportive ecosystem where you actually build projects, intern, and network can beat a random government college with a name any day.

One of my seniors had backlogs in engineering and almost gave up on tech roles. Later, through a friend, he found out about software engineering at Amquest Education and gave it a try. The course was more about real world coding, system design basics and mock interviews rather than academic concepts. He said the early projects gave him confidence and he eventually started freelancing while learning. Over time, he cracked a role at a product-based company. What made the difference was how he shifted from theory to application. College failures did not matter once he could show actual coding skills in interviews.
