Why solve sample papers of the NIFT Situation Test?
One of the most effective ways to prepare for the NIFT Situation Test is by solving sample and previous years' question papers of NIFT. It is because apart from learning about the paper structure, like what types of questions are asked, marking scheme, and difficulty level, the candidate can benefit in another way. Sample papers are great tools to develop one's problem-solving and time-management abilities.
So, in this article, we bring you previous years' question papers along with sample papers to get ready for the design entrance exam.

NIFT Entrance Exam is a "two-tiered process for BDes course admission. The aspirant has to first appear in the written exam - CAT (Creative Ability Test) and GAT (General Ability Test). Shortlisted candidates have to next appear in a NIFT Situation Test. Candidates are shortlisted for the Situation Test on the basis of their performance in the written tests (CAT and GAT). The NIFT 2026 scorecard will contain the qualifying status of the candidate. Candidates who qualify the NIFTEE written exams only can appear in the Situation Test.
To prepare the merit list of NIFT 2026, the weightage given to CAT and GAT exams is 50% and 30%, respectively, and the NIFT Situation Test carries 20% weightage. Every year, the NIFT Situation Test is conducted after the declaration of NIFT results for the written exams.

Note: The questions listed below have been shared by coaching centers and students who appeared for the NIFT entrance exam in a given year.

There is no dress code for the NTA NIFT 2026 Situation Test. But it is advisable to dress up neatly and smartly. Students should avoid chunky jewellry flashy logos for the exam.
NIFT Situation Test will be of 2 hours. In this time, candidates have to draw the given 3D model and write about it.
A Technical Ability Test (TAT) and Personal Interview will be conducted for NIFT Stage 2 examination of B.F.Tech. (NLEA). The format of the exam will be in paper-based (OMR) format.
