Yes, NIOS allows students who have taken admission in the Secondary level to change their subjects. Students have to pay the fees as mentioned by the NIOS. For change of subject/additional subject, students should submit their application on plain paper to the concerned Regional Centre of the NIOS through their AI. The fees for Secondary Course Rs. 720/- per subject. The subject (s) passed cannot be changed.

The difficulty level of any subjects will depend on the preparation level of the student. We cannot say that NIOS 10th syllabus is easy. As far as NIOS students are concerned, they have to learn by themselves. They cannot attend classes like other school-going students. They need to prepare well for the NIOS 10th exam, so as to achieve a good score.

Students should score 33% of the total marks for passing the NIOS Class 10 exam. For 10th and 12th, you need to score a minimum of 33% in the aggregate in the practical and theory exams.

Class 10 students must be of 14 years. They have to submit a self-certificate stating that they have studied enough to do the NIOS 10th course. Students who have partially or fully completed their Class 10th degrees from other boards can also enroll for the Secondary level to improve their grades or complete their course. Students at the Secondary level need to take a minimum of 5 subjects, including at least one language, and no more than 2 languages. They can take a maximum of 7 subjects.

Students at the NIOS 10th level need to take a minimum of 5 subjects. There must be one language in it and no more than 2 languages. They can take upto 7 subjects. The minimum pass percentage for the NIOS 10th is 33 percent.

The last date for NIOS 10th Oct/Nov Exam fee was July 10, 2024 with a late fee INR 1500 per learner. Students can check the details regarding the NIOS 10th exam fee payment 2025 on this page. Admit card will be issued for those who paid the exam fee. Students can visit nios.ac.in for completing the fee payment process. They have to pay the fees online.

Block I students can take admission from March 16 to July 31 without late fees. From August 1 to August 15, the students have to pay a late fees of INR 200. They can apply with a late fee of INR 400 from August 16 to August 31. The final date for Block I admission is September 1 to September 15 with late fees of INR 700. These students will be able to appear for the exam in the upcoming year April-May. The final date for Block II admission is March 1 to March 15 with late fees of INR 700.

Students can apply for NIOS online through sdmis.nios.ac.in. The NIOS board releases all the notifications on the NIOS portals. Candidates are advise to regularly visit the NIOS portals for the latest update. The NIOS admits students of Class 10 in two-cycle. All eligible students can register themselves through the official NIOS website.
