NIOS Class 12th Exam 2024: Date Sheet (Out for Theory exam), Hall Ticket, Syllabus, Sample Papers

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) conducts NIOS Class 12th examinations twice a year, in March-April and October. 

The admissions for Block-I usually start during mid-March and continue until the mid of September for the March-April examinations, while for the October examinations, the admissions commence from the very next day the Block-I admission concludes, i.e, mid of September until the mid of March of the following year. 

NIOS released the NIOS 12th result 2024 on June 21, 2024. All the candidates who appear for the examinations must visit the official website of NIOS to check their results by using their respective enrollment number. NIOS Board released the NIOS Class 12 Result October session on December 26, 2023. NIOS Class 12 result 2023 for April-May 2023 exam was released on June 23, 2023. 

NIOS 12th Pass Percentage

The pass criteria for Senior Secondary Course (Class 12) in a subject for NIOS is a minimum of 33% marks in the aggregate as well as separately in theory and practicals in the public examinations. 

NIOS 12th Date Sheet 2024

NIOS released NIOS 12th date sheet 2024 in March 2024. The block 1 exams will be held in pen and paper mode. NIOS released the NIOS Class 12 Date Sheet 2024 for the April examinations online. Students must keep visiting the official NIOS website for such updates. NIOS 12th practical exam was held from March 11 to March 27, 2024.

Students preparing for the NIOS Class 12 examinations must carefully go through the NIOS Class 12 Syllabus and chalk out their study schedule accordingly. 

NIOS released the NIOS 12th hall ticket for theory exam 2024 Oct/Nov on the official website. The NIOS 12th Admit Card for practical exam was released on Sept 12, 2024. All the students appearing for the NIOS 12th examinations must visit the official website of NIOS to download the NIOS hall ticket 2024.

To appear for the NIOS 12th examinations 2024, the learners should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• The student should be at least 15 years old to apply for NIOS 12^th admission 2023-24.
• The learner should have passed the secondary (10^th) exams successfully
• The learner should be enrolled with NIOS
• The learner should be able to produce a Secondary class pass certificate from NIOS/recognised Board along with address proof and two latest passport-size photographs

  Conditions: Pass with five subjects namely English one major Indian language, Mathematics, Science and Social Science with 35% marks may be treated as equivalent to S.S.C awarded by AP Board of Secondary Education.

  Senior Secondary: Provided that the candidate had obtained pass marks in English and three other written subjects at one and the same sitting.

  Conditions: Secondary: Must have passed Hindi, English (compulsory) and Math, Social Science, Science and optional subjects that a student has taken.
  Senior Secondary: Pass all subjects which are according to Board Syllabus, i.e. Hindi, English (compulsory) and any three other subjects that the student has taken.

HIMACHAL PRADESH

• HP Board of Secondary Education
  Conditions: Provided Secondary students have offered any four subjects out of English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science and any one subject out of (a) Sanskrit/Urdu/Tamil/Telugu (b) one elective subject, and Senior Secondary Students have offered English plus three electives, to be chosen from one of the following; (a) Humanities; (b) Science; (c) Commerce.

  Condition: Secondary: Pass in minimum 6 (six) subjects; Senior Secondary: Pass in minimum 5 (five subjects)

UTTRANCHAL

  Condition: Passed with six subjects at Secondary level.

WEST BENGAL

• Government of West Bengal School Education Department
  Condition: Compulsory subjects in the examination similar to those in the Madhyamik Examination under West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and cleared the compulsory and minimum number of Elective subjects as stipulated for the Higher Secondary Examination under West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Examination.

Note: Pass in a minimum of five subjects is the prerequisite condition for admission in all Boards unless otherwise stated.

NIOS 12th Exam Pattern 

Students must go through the prescribed NIOS Class 12 exam pattern as it would help them in strategising their studies and study accordingly. Exam pattern would also help the students in allocating time wisely according to the weightage of the topics in each subject.
