There are chances that you may get NIT based on your score in JEE mains based on your caste. But you should not rely only on a single option. You should also apply for some other best institutes either government or private. You can also expect scholarships from some private universities. You are having an average score in JEE Mains, but this doesn't assure you of a seat in NIT. You may get a seat based on your category rank. However you shouldn't rely only on that. You should also apply for some best private universities having their forms open. Private universities also provide best infrastructure and equally good education with government universities.
