You have a good chance of getting admission to some NITs, government engineering colleges, and IIITs, but likely not the top-ranked ones; you might need to consider lower-ranked NITs or other government colleges, depending on your branch preference and specific state cutoffs. Not enough for top NITs, but can consider lower NITs, which is local or regional NITs.

If your rank is 161248 in JEE main 2025, you will not get admission in NIT but there are chances to get admission in low branches in NIT. If you want CSE or electronic  branches, then you can participate in UPTU Counselling.

NIT Narula follows an entrance-based admission process for the BTech course. Candidates must appear for JEE Mains to participate in the admission process. Candidates wishing to secure admission to the course at NIT Narula must check out the eligibility criteria set-out by the institute as well. Admissions are subject to candidates meeting the eligibility criteria and qualifying through the admission process.

With an OBC rank of 44,254 and a CRL rank of 133,700, you might have a shot at getting into some of the lower-ranked NITs or IIITs for a B.Tech program. Your chances are likely better for less competitive branches like Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering at these institutions.
