Apologies for the late reply!
To get admission into NMIMS, one has to give the NMAT exam and score at least 208-210 (based on previous year trends), apart from clearing the sectional cut-offs (LS - 55, QA - 74 & LR - 61).

MBA core is the flagship course offered by NMIMS-Mumbai, followed by MBA (HR) and MBA (Pharma), etc. So you can set the order of preference as MBA (HR) first, unless you have interest in any other stream.

NMIMS is known for its MBA and is growing in the field of law as well. UPES is a great university for law, but I would go with NMIMS if talked about corporate sector.

The merit list number doesn't matter if your status is selected. Even if your number is 1100 and status is selected, your seat is reserved the day you deposit the fees. No matter what, once the fees are paid, you are officially a NMIMS student till you decide to withdraw.
