In admission counselling terminology, B.Sc Nursing does not fall under the AC4 category.
AC4 category is generally used in Maharashtra CET counselling to denote Engineering/Pharmacy/Architecture courses.
B.Sc Nursing is classified separately under Health Sciences / Nursing courses, and its counselling is conducted by the State CET Cell (Maharashtra) or respective universities (like MUHS, RGUHS, etc.).
- For B.Sc Nursing, eligibility is based on NEET UG scores (from 2025 onwards in most states), and the category codes used in health sciences counselling are different (e.g., NU for Nursing, PH for Physiotherapy, etc.).

- Fees are much lower compared to private nursing colleges (often just a few thousand per year vs. Lacs in private).
2. Recognition & Accreditation

With only an MHA (Master of Hospital Administration), you cannot directly become a lecturer in a nursing college in Kolkata. Nursing faculty posts require an M.Sc Nursing degree recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and West Bengal Nursing Council (WBNC). However, with MHA you may qualify for teaching roles in hospital administration, health management, or allied health programs, but not core nursing subjects.
Lecturer Eligibility in Nursing Colleges (West Bengal)
- Minimum Qualification:
- M.Sc Nursing in a recognized specialty (Community Health, Child Health, Mental Health, Cardiovascular, Obstetrics & Gynecology, etc.).
