Admission to an ANM generally requires you to have completed Class 12 in any stream from a recognised board, meeting the minimum percentage set by the college or state authority. You can apply either through state-level nursing admission portals or directly via the institution's website, depending on the state. Some institutes admit purely on Class 12 merit, while others may hold a short entrance test or interview. Once shortlisted, you'll go through document verification and fee payment to confirm your seat.

The main difference between a Nurse and a Midwife is that a Nurse provides care to patients of all ages and with several medical conditions. Meanwhile, a Midwife specializes in providing care to pregnant women during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.
A Nurse has a wide scope of work in different departments like Oncology, OT, NICU, Emergency care, Pediatrics, etc., but a Midwife can only work in an Obstetrics & Gynecology department.
