AFMC Pune Popular Programmes 2026
Armed Forces Medical College offers a range of courses in fields like Medicine, Health Sciences, Nursing, etc. The college offers courses at the UG, PG, and Doctorate levels. MBBS & BSc Nursing are some of the most popular courses offered by the institution. The duration of the MBBS course is 4 ½ years followed by compulsory rotating internship training of one year. All medical cadets after completing final MBBS examination will undergo internship training in selected service hospitals recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Students who want to take admission for MBBS course at AFMC Pune will have to mandatorily qualify the NEET UG Exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). On successful completion of MBBS Course from AFMC, the medical cadets join the Armed Forces Medical Services as Commissioned Officers in one of the three services - Army, Navy and Air Force. On the basis of merit-cum-choice 50% of the medical cadets are offered Permanent Commission (PC) and the rest Short Service Commission (SSC).
The College of Nursing under AMFC Pune offers BSc Nursing at UG level. It is offered for the duration of 4 years. The seat intake for this course is 40 seats. The number of seats vary every year based on cut off. After completing the course students can work in Hospitals, Clinics, Military, or go for higher studies like MSc Nursing which is also offered by the college. AMFC Pune Admission Process and Important Dates 2026
The mode of AMFC Pune course admission is online. Admission to AFMC, Pune is subject to norms prescribed by the Director General Armed Forces Medical Services, Ministry of Defence, and Government of India. The students need to register & fill the application form released by the college to take part in the admission process. Students need to check the eligibility criteria before filling the application form.
After the application process ends, cut off is released by the college on their official website. The students who have made it to the final merit list/wait list as published on AFMC website, are called for admission. They need to produce the original Admit card for NEET containing the NEET Roll number, original mark sheets of their qualifying examination and other documents.
