About 37% of students come from underrepresented ethnic groups and the university has witnessed a 10% increase in the number of first time full-time African American freshmen. In Fall 2019, the university enrolled a total of 23,675 students, including 19,176 undergraduate and 4,499 graduates. Among them, about 697 international students were enrolled from 98 countries. The gender ratio of the enrolled student population included 44% men and 56% women students.
