There is various part in MBA. i would like to suggest you go through distance learning program for MBA and as well as you can do a job in you are interest base.

Mba is people oriented and not subject oriented, management is managing people, it does nt depend on the background u have, it always depends on ur interest. if u like brands, communication, marketing, then u shud do an mba in marketing, if u love numbers and trade/finance excites u then finance, if u r people oriented and love to guide and manage people then Hr.

MBA programs prefer students with other than business background, because they give you the business training but they can't give you the broad education that a manager needs. engineering or a science would be your best choice, but the best is always the field that you find most interesting.

Competitive Examinations Tips, Techniques, and Short-cut Methods by Guha Abhijit.

Would like to add few more points in difference between MBA & PGDM.
While there are huge similarities in the curriculum of both MBA and PGDM, there are finer points of difference. While MBA focuses more on theoretical aspects of management and is more exam-oriented, PGDM has a focus on building soft skills and is industry-oriented. It prepares you for the job market.
Since an autonomous institute does not have to follow university standards, it is free to change its curriculum according to industry standards and change in business environment. Also a PGDM gives you an industry exposure. Whereas it will take time to change the curriculum
