Yes, many PGDCA specializations usually have better placement records, such as web development, database management, and software testing, leading to more and better job opportunities compared to the regular PGDCA program, as these fields currently have high demand in the IT industry.
However, the placements also depend on the specific colleges' placement records and the recruiting companies they invite.

The curriculum of 1-year long PGDCA course is divided into 3 categories: Core, Elective, and Lab subjects. Students have to study and clear all the core subjects covered in the program, however, the elective subjects are optional subjects that can be chosen, and lastly lab subjects are practical.
Core subjects include Fundamentals of IT, C+ Programming, Oracle, Java, and PPM & OB. Whereas elective subjects include Web Development, MS Access, FoxPro, etc.

Students who are interested to apply for admission to the PGDCA course must have completed graduation/ post-graduation from a recognised university/institute. They must have taken Mathematics as one of the main subjects. Those candidates who are in the final year of graduation/ post-graduation are also eligible to apply. Various institutes have different eligibility criteria for admission.
