Hi,
CPL alone doesn't help you land in a cockpit of an airplane. Most of the airlines are hiring CPL holders having type rating done or are willing to do so. Although there are some major airlines like Emirates, Etihad or in India we can say Indigo hiring senior officer pilots on the basis of unblemished past career who have already done some flying hours, satisfying the entry criteria, can also apply for the job. Coming back to you it may take you a year or two after getting your type rating done to fly an airplane.

For getting a job in airline you will have to go through the selection procedure of the airline. It comprises of Technical Exam, GD, PI, Simulator check and Medicals. For becoming a commercial pilot, there is a specific eligibility criteria, which you should first be aware of. This is decided on what subjects have you taken in class 12th. It requires 50% marks in PCM to be a pilot. And, even if you have not opted for the same, then you can appear separately for these subjects and become eligible. Further, you should be aware that you are medically fit to be a pilot, so I would suggest you to visithttp://www.dgca.nic.in/medical/medical-

Jobs for fresh pilots is not very easy. Airlines come up with vacancies from time to time and then the selection procedure starts. Usually the selection procedure includes Written Exam (Technical), followed by Compass Test / Psychometry, followed by Group Task / Discussion, followed by Interview. Pilots are highly trained professionals and hence any operator will want them to be recent and known to their procedures.
