The BTech Production Engineering syllabus usually ensures a healthy balance between both theoretical learning in the classroom and hands-on training through lab classes, projects, and workshops. You will have to study the core subject modules, opt for the specialised programme electives based on your interests and understanding, and gain practical experience through lab exercises.

There are around 440 colleges for Production Engineering in India, out of which 110 colleges accept the GATE exam scores for giving admission to the M.Tech Production Engineering course. Since the GATE exam is the top national-level entrance exam for PG courses, there is intense competition for seats at top colleges, and hence you need to work extra hard to get excellent marks and rank to grab a seat for the course.

The Production Engineering entrance exams for admission take place at the national/state/university levels and are generally quite competitive and difficult to crack because the competition is quite high at top colleges with limited seats. The cutoffs are really high at the IITs, NITs, and other prominent colleges, so you need to work very hard and get excellent marks and rank to grab a seat.

The time required to prepare for the Production Engineering entrance exams cannot be said with any certainty. It differs on the basis of the specific exam that you're planning to appear for. You require at least 6 to 8 months in general to cover all the exam syllabus topics, have a look at the previous years' question papers, take mock tests, and revise the high-weightage topics to get excellent marks in the entrance test.
