Hello Sopunjyoti,
Capacity of a course in any engineering college is approved by AICTE & every college has to work within these limits. Lateral admissions are done directly into the 2nd year. Hence there are many variables & constraints on management to admit students. Due to this there is no fixed quota or capacity to accept students under this category. However as a rule of thumb it can be safe to consider 10% seats of intake in first year as number of seats available for lateral admission. Best wishes to you.

Hi Sunil, Yes, for sure you are eligible for this exam. Criteria is Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3 year duration. Feel free for your further doubts.

More scope in sound engineering is pro DJ, because nowadays mostly youngsters are addicted to DJ, when compared to others and second scope is MST music production because you may get chances in cinema field industry.

In my opinion, you should opt for mechanical engineering in IIT-Indore because IIT-Indore has experienced mechanical engineering faculty members and good course curriculum.

Vishal don't go with which stream is better. Go with what you want do after studying B.Tech. You may take following considerations. If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical engineering. Or Electrical engineering. If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies. Yes, your son can seek admission in production engineering directly in 2nd year via lateral entry mode. I would, however advise you to download information brochure from the website of DTE Maharashtra for knowing in detail other requirements.
